this whole conversation was misdirection to trick us into thinking that bec wouldn’t get prototyped after all. in retrospect, it seems like this probably refers to john eventually meeting jake— but it’s still possible that jade means her actual grandpa— as far as we know he’s still wandering around the kids’ planets somewhere on his big flying ship. unless it flew back to earth through a skaia portal already and i forgot? i don’t think that happened, though. so he might still be out somewhere, having his incipisphere adventure, before returning to beta earth’s past, finding baby jade, and getting the shit murdered out of him by tavros.
